We all know and love the hit comedy show ‘Friends’. From the late 90s to early 2000s, to this day, teens and all age ranges of adults enjoy this old classic everytime. This 10 season long television series is about a group of six best friends that live their lives to the fullest in none other than New York City. This show takes place in a coffee shop, ‘Central Perk’, and is mainly set in Monica’s apartment that is worth up to 5 billion dollars nowadays.
Based on the hilarious comedy and friendships that were built, this show will never die. Still to this day, teens all over the world are continuing to watch this show that many of their parents grew up loving. As the seasons go by, you find yourself falling in love with each character for multiple reasons. Yes. Even Gunther! With Chandler's use of sarcasm and Joey’s acting career hoping to take off, there is always something fascinating with every character. This show has been seen almost as many time as Ross has said “We were on a break”! Count that and see what you get.
Based on my experiences watching this show, I know the jokes and comments never stop being funny. There are thousands of jokes within this series; if you hear about one or watch an episode or two, you know right away this will brighten up your day. So are you really going to let this legendary series die? Not even for a second. Each upcoming generation deserves to see this show. Once this generation becomes adults, we must help our children discover this show so they can enjoy it just as much as you and I do.
As this show still makes around a billion dollars every time this show is aired today, how can we let that die? With Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer (Phoebe and Ross) not agreeing to continue the show unless all six cast members were making the same amount of money, how can we let a show that these people worked so incredibly hard on, never be seen by another generation? This show is by far the best comedic show that I have seen and nothing will top it.
At times, you may have thought that perhaps the show could be shortened, like: “10 seasons is a lot, I have lost interest and this seems like the same plot to last season’s episode.” However, like any show, when you are enjoying and interested in it, you know it. When it comes to ‘Friends’, there are a very little amount of viewers that will list those things; 3% of people in the world have said that. A problem that could occur today about the show is many of the jokes and comments are not tolerated in this day in age. This is because, many of the comments being rude towards women. Although, at that time, society was not as strict about those comments. Now, times have changed.
Despite the couple of issues you may personally have with ‘Friends’, this classic cannot and will not die. 98% of people today believe ‘Friends’ will continue to be watched by future generations for many more decades to come. As long as each generation is introduced to it, they will 100% be hooked like an anchor to a boat, with the rest of us.
