Warthunder is a free-to-play game released on November 1st 2012, that is based around war combat vehicles from World War Two up to present. This game gives you the thrill and realistic experience that all gamers love. It makes you feel like you are the commander of a tank, a fighter, bomber or helicopter pilot; or even a captain of a super heavy cruiser or a lightning fast torpedo boat. You may also feel, at times, that you are fighting for a country involved in World War Two. There are many oportunities in this game to be whoever you want for a few minutes, or even hours.

Gameplay

When you first download and create an account for Warthunder you will have to choose between: land, air, or sea, and choose a country that was somehow involved in the World War Two conflict, including: USA, Germany, the Soviet Union, Japan, Italy, Britain, and France (Just keep in mind that even though you chose one country doesn’t mean you just have to play that country, you just start off with it). You then go through a tutorial which will teach you the basics of the game, but the real learning will happen when you play your first battles with live players.

History

The game was first released in 2012, by Gaijin Entertainment, which also has a bunch of other games similar to this one like IL-2 Stormavik and Apache Assault. At the time the only vehicles in it were aircraft and there was only 200 of them, but now there are over 1,000 aircraft, helicopters, tanks, and naval units to grind to; there are regularily a few vehicles and mechanics added every major patch. The game started out with the newest vehicles being at the latest post World War Two, but now there are MBT’s (Main Battle Tanks) that are in use today, like the famous American M1 Abrams, or the well known Leopard 2A5 that is used in all of Europe.

Competition

World Of Tanks is the biggest competitor to Warthunder, although they both have very different mechanics and basically a different player base. World Of Tanks is owned by Wargaming.Net which also has World Of Warships and World Of War Planes. The reason why players choose Warthunder is because of it being much more realistic and having all combat vehicles in one game

Verdict

Warthunder is a game of its own and there is not really anything like it where all combat vehicles can play with or against eachother. 9/10
