Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review

Call of Duty has had many productions of games hit the shelves, the first dating back to October 29th, 2003. The series of Modern Warfare, however, has the longest list of games in Call of Duty’s history, the first coming out in 2007, the next in 2009, 2011, 2014, 2016 and now 2019.

COD MW was developed by Infinity Ward, a video game developing company based out of Los Angeles, California. Infinity Ward has developed 5 out of the 6 games in the Modern Warfare Series. The only one they did not develop was COD Advanced Warfare when it hit the shelves in 2014.

Campaign

When you pick up a copy of COD, you don't expect it to be exactly rainbows and unicorns, right? In COD MW it is nothing shy of violence. The Campaign in MW is extremely life-like, bouncing you around from different characters and their own adventures in warfare.

Throughout the campaign there are a variety of different situations you will come across: roaming around the streets of Piccadilly, London with only a handgun killing crazy suicide bombers and terrorists, to invading a warbase in Urzikstan with an army of civilians and the charcater you will play, John “Soap” MacTavish.

When picking up the new COD on October 29th, be sure to try out the brand new MW campaign that will set your expectations high for any other first person shooter game.

Multiplayer

The reason why COD has become so popular, Multiplayer brings PvP shooting games to a whole new level. Within COD MW multiplayer there are new, never before seen maps, but also some returns. In my personal findings of the game, my favourite map is Shipment. Shipment is a really, really small map. This means for quick, high-paced, high-kill games, that can also mean it gets on your nerves really quickly.

A flaw that has happened within the multiplayer standpoint of COD is how, like in previous games, you can prestige to accumulate better guns and various other perks. That is not the case in COD MW, this can lead to some boring encounters, especially once you make it to level 155.

Spec-Ops

The highest request for the Modern Warfare series to bring back. Spec-Ops is a Co-Op mission, much like multiplayer, where you and friends can take on similar missions to fight off enemy forces.
