The Last Jedi: The good, the bad, and the ugly

Writer's picture: It'sMyBlyth It'sMyBlyth

‘The Last Jedi’ can be summed by a line well said by Chewbacca “GGWWWRGHH”. Yes, intense. From a personal standpoint I thought ‘The Last Jedi’ was a great movie. From great space battles to scenes that will definitely touch you. ‘The Last Jedi’ has everything you could think of. But with the exception of a few mistakes.

“May The Force Be With You”

‘The Last Jedi’ starts with Poe single handedly taking out a Dreadnought. Well with the help of a Rebel X-wings, bombers and BB-8. This scene is just so intense, making the audience jump out of their seat when watching. When Poe clears all the blasters off the Dreadnought the Rebel Fleet comes in and then Tie Fighters get released and it’s just a mess of green and red lasers with explosions everywhere. What thought out to be a good plan later turned for the worse when Rebel bombers started crashing into each other and the X-wings were getting shot down by Tie Fighters. Just when you thought the Rebels were going to lose that lonely bomber makes the distance and boom! Down goes a Dreadnought. But did the Rebel really win? When Poe returns back to the base he realizes (with the help of Princess Leia) that he sacrificed a whole bomber fleet for one Dreadnought.

“If You Only Knew The Power Of The Dark Side”

Another really touching scene is when we finally think Kylo Ren and Rey will join and turn Kylo good like Luke does to Darth Vader in ‘Return of the Jedi’ but that never ends up happening: oh and didn’t I mention when Kylo kills his master Snoke by using the Force. That was awesome. One scene that explains why these two might have connected was the “ForceTime” calls they were having. Like when Rey was in a rainy atmosphere and Kylo was in Star Killer Base when he was done talking to her there was water on his hand. How could it have gotten there? Reason behind this: they were actually connecting with one another.

“It’s Time For The Jedi To End”

We’re coming to the end of this review just a couple more scenes that made this movie the way it is. The first one when is the rip off Hoth battle scene. Personally I was not a fan of this, as the Hoth battle scene will forever hold a place in my heart with the original AT-AT Walkers and the orange and white Snow Speeders. I wish this scene could’ve taking place on a snowy planet because I was looking forward to another snow battle as I was expecting that also. Since this series was mimicking the original one (there is nothing wrong with that because 4,5,6 were awesome). With the red velvet cake land and the new and improved At-AT walkers something just didn’t feel right. Yes, not even the “fight” scene between Luke and Kylo. It would’ve been better to see Luke actually in person fighting.

This is the End:

This wraps up this review and looking forward for the next movie to come out just so many questions like who is that boy that uses the force to get the broom and how will a Rebel army the size of the Millennium Falcon defeat the First Order who is bound to get stronger.
