The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas Review

Writer's picture: It'sMyBlyth It'sMyBlyth

The movie was released on August 28th 2008, with the novel originally written by John Boyne. As a young man who spent 5 years of my life at war, I can relate to the movie in a lot of different ways.

I lived with a really successful family through my entire life, I’ve seen how others mistreat poor people and make them carry heavy bags on their back until they get the bags to where they were asked to put them, even if they had to go up the stairs two floors. A poor man in most places around the world is treated like a shoe on rich people’s feet, and a rich man is treated like a crown on everybody’s head.

And that’s exactly what the movie shows us, it shows how some people until this day don't think poor people are humans just like everybody. “You know son, they not really people” This is the part in the movie where the high class father explains to his son that poor Jews aren’t really humans.

I personally was raised to treat the janitor the same way I treat a CEO. It was a heartbreaking movie that reminded me of the reality we live in and how we’re destroying the world, I give a huge apology to the future generations. We’re taking away the future of our children and our children’s children.
