This is based on a true incident from a few years ago, where a veteran pilot actually was able to land his plane on the Hudson River in NYC and with all 155 aboard surviving. ‘Sully’ reveals something rarely seen in movies these days, the simple heroism of ordinary people become extraordinary and reveal their pure talent in just one act. The event was dramatic enough without anything needed to be added to enhance that.


What makes ‘Sully’ a great movie?


What makes ‘Sully’ a great movie is that the writer Clint Eastwood lets the story tell itself. Especially with the water landing. Nothing is taken out of content in the way Hollywood thinks. To top it all off, Tom Hanks is an amazing actor, it was great that he and Clint Eastwood did a movie together.


What inspired Clint Eastwood to film this movie?


‘Sully’ gives us an in-depth look at the miracle of the Hudson landing. Through the title does state the focal point of this movie is Captain Chesley “Sully” who did an amazing water landing on the Hudson River in January of 2009. The audience of this movie are the people who enjoy true stories that will let them know that there is still hope in this world, despite the fact that we are hurting and erasing each other from this world, people who enjoy watching others save others instead.


In the end, this movie is about true heroes, not just Sully, but everyone involved in the US Airways Flight 1549 water landing. From the well-trained flight attendance to the rescue police on the water. It is about how we forget how to treat a hero, but true heroes will always shine, and Eastwood tells the story as real as possible knowing he has an amazing story to tell.
