Ready Player One, a novel about a teenage boy named Wade starting a journey to find a special egg (an egg that pays big amounts of money). The novel is based in the future where reality has gone to complete chaos, leaving everyone with nothing left but virtual reality headsets taking people to the “OASIS”. This Science Fiction book has many action/ adventure scenes, along with a lot of suspense. It is easy to tell the author of the novel: Ernest Cline, put a lot of effort into writing this novel, it really feels like you are there with Wade, and at the same time feeling his emotions. While reading Ready Player One it is very hard not to fall in love with the story due to; the charming side of Wade, the suspense, maybe even you’d like to get to know Wade’s world better, with how he deals with is day to day life in the OASIS, of course.
Although Wade does seem to be down at times, but who wouldn’t be living in that point in time. Everything in the real world would suck, sharing a trailer with other families, while being stacked on each other, that would totally suck. You have to be very quiet in the real or terrible things could happen such as: getting kidnapped, having your organs stolen from you, even getting mugged. Nobody in the real world has money, it is very hard for anyone to even get a job at a fast food place, nobody has a proper diet due to buying the cheapest meals possible. School is even worse, everyone at school always just picks on each other all because they’re hiding under a screen, this isn’t a very safe school environment for everyone. So Wade does have some reasons to be upset with the world at times, but he still does have fun while looking at the bright side of things.
The suspense at the end of each chapter just makes you want to keep reading, you never know what's going to happen next. While each chapter brings something new, so does Wade. Getting closer and closer to finding the “Easter egg” Wade finds more hope along with motivation. Wade isn’t as absent minded as the rest of the Gunters (egg hunters) which gives him a huge advantage to finding Hallidays Easter egg, with all of his game trivia and facts, of course. Wade doesn’t want to team up with anyone else to find this Easter egg, Wade wants to find it all by himself, along with one of his best friends from the OASIS, having the same interests of trivia and finding the egg their own way. Being a level 3 hunter along with being at school all day doesn’t stop Wade from finding Hallidays egg, he wants to prove everyone wrong.
