Imagine yourself with four of your brothers, alone on a mountain in Afghanistan, only to be found by the Taliban. The movie ‘Lone Survivor’ starring Mark Wahlberg is a story that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The movie was based on a failed mission named operation redwing. A four man SEAL team was set up in the mountains of Afghanistan to hunt and kill a taliban leader named Ahmad Shah. The mission was quickly turned around as the team was found hiding in the mountains by which led them to be ambushed and stuck in immense firefights lasting some people days.
The film is filled with action whether it be pinballing through trees or falling down cliffs it is guaranteed to have you chewing at your nails. This movie also helps people gain a perspective on what these highly trained soldiers are capable of doing. Their extreme strength, determination and their sense of selflessness show how heroic they truthfully are. Awesome!
The main outstanding attribute of this movie is the acting. Mark Wahlberg is no stranger to playing intense roles like he does in the movies ‘Shooter’, ‘Deepwater Horizon’ and ‘Pain and Gain’. This is clearly shown in his depiction of Marcus Lutrell in ‘Lone Survivor’. This combined with small bits of the real lone survivor Marcus Luttrell make it really cool because it shows how involved Marcus was in the creation of this movie. Marcus Luttrell being involved also shows how accurate the creation of the movie is in relation to his actual experience of the horrific events.
Therefore, the incredible plot based on a true story, the perspective of such heroic and respected people and incredible acting is only three reasons why you should watch this incredible movie.
