The day we’ve all been waiting for! The highly anticipated shoes of 2018. Here’s the review of Lebron’s 15th signature shoe, the Lebron XIV.. After having the shoes for two weeks, i’ve felt that I had a great experience with the shoes. Therefore, I’ve categorized each element of the shoe, that I’ve felt is most important for basketball players.

Traction:

Looking at the sole of the LBJ XV’s, we notice an obscure pattern; the pattern consists of one unique shape, diamonds. The diamonds allow players to easily re-gain and gain control on clean-refined courts. The middle of the sole consists of a padded inner-sole that changes colour as more pressure is applied onto it. The shoe consists of two different unique soles, the middle sole and inner-sole, these soles are specially designed to fit flat or arched feet. The consistent pattern of diamonds within the shoe;helps keep the rubber on the shoe’s sole clean as a bald man’s head, dirt particles hardly stick to the pattern as much. Moreover, A quick clean with a toothbrush, will fully clean the soles. My thought is the LBJ XV’s offers better traction control on court; than Lebron’s prior shoe the Lebron XIV (14) as the XIV's offer a translucent rubber sole, which is a dirt magnet, attracting every spec of dirt possible to shoe, it almost made players feel as if they were running on ice.

Cushion:

Nike and LeBron’s collaboration have finally broken Nike’s hard-earned reputation of having uncomfortable basketball shoes. The LBJ XV (15) are the comfiest shoes in this planet. Nike has equipped these shoes with their ForeFoot Bottom Zoom Air. The Zoom Air setup provides players with close court feel ; allowing them to feel as if their wearing no shoes. This allows players to have a quicker reaction time; allowing them to cut to the basket at sharper angles. The cushioning provided in the LBJ XV’s are tremendous, comparing these to the Kyrie 3’s is out of this world, as the Kyrie 3’s squeezed your foot until it turned blue. Moreover, the LBJ XV’s provides a sophisticated cushioning level, allowing point guards to wear lebron’s shoe without having a heavy foot, keeping their agility and mobility at peak levels throughout their game.

Fit:

The Lebron XV are unique compared to its other competition such as: Curry 5’s , Lillard 3’s and ZO2’s. The difference between the XV and it’s competitors: the toe of the shoe is locked in place. When I was trying on the shoe, for my actual size it was a hassle. I’d recommended buying at least a size or 2 sizes above your normal size when purchasing the LBJ XV’s. The fit is true to your size, even though you are buying one or two sizes above. Surprising, right? The fit of the shoe is as perfect as the shoe fitting in cinderella’s foot ;it keeps your foot locked satisfying both the ankle and foot due to the help of the locked toe. Moreover, this grants players enough mobility to jump and run as fast as cheetahs whilst their ankles are safely secured. The LBJ XV’s have the comfort, and supporting fit just like the KD9’s, both shoes provide a tremendous fit giving players an advantage on the court.

Verdict:

Overall the verdict is...Fantastic! the Nike/Lebron collaboration of the Soldier XV’s is a fantastic shoe. If you’re looking for a shoe that is reliable and gets the job done, this is the perfect shoe for you. The Lebron XV’s is a perfect blend of a running shoe and basketball shoe. The shoe is as light as Nike’s running shoes (Nike Lunars) and the traction is as great as the Kyrie 3’s. The LBJ XIV’s have perfected the fit and cushioning of the shoe. In conclusion, I rate this shoe 8/10 due to it excelling through the tests it was put through. We hope to see more creative creations like this in the future, as Nike incorporates more new technology within their shoes.
