Munchos

Light, crisp, and airy. Are these chips all that they seem? They’re perfect for anyone wanting to devour in a quick snack but can they be detrimental to your health? You can find these in any convenience store or grocery store and they usually retail for about $1.49 CAD or less.

A Classic Potato Chip?

These chips are actually identified as crisps. They are often looked at as being the “sister” chip to Lays but with a crunchier texture and a different taste. They have little pockets of air in them, which means that they are popped instead of fried.

Nutritional Value

If you are looking for something on the healthier side, I wouldn’t suggest you pick these up. One 60g packet is 340 calories and also contains 490mg of sodium… Unbelievable!

You might be thinking “Why would anyone want to eat something that would spike their cholesterol?” but Munchos has acknowledged this. While they have agreed it’s not the healthiest snack, they know their customers are going to continue to purchase them.

My True Thoughts

In my opinion, Munchos are an acquired taste. The first time I ever tried them, I really didn’t like them. Something drew me back; potentially the saltiness or the satisfying crunch. Maybe it can be considered a conspiracy… I can never say for sure. I now enjoy a bag weekly- probably not the best for my health- and can honestly say finding these chips changed my life but not for the best. I agree they are delicious but I do have to rate these a 6/10 because of how unhealthy they are. While they are an amazing snack, I do have to warn anyone who could have possible health concerns to steer clear of these.
