Mr. Nehoc and the strange goings on

Writer's picture: It'sMyBlyth It'sMyBlyth

I got out of my car, waved my Mother goodbye, and proceeded to the school, as I do every day. I entered the front of the School dreading every step as my essay on ‘Lord of the Rings is due; I have barely even started. While I am walking down the hall, everything seems normal up until. “Wait. What. What is that?”...

Mr. Cohen’s classroom had flames coming from under the door. Almost as if it's on fire. I proceeded to the door with caution, as I opened it, I was shocked of what I saw. Mr. Cohen had ripped dress pants at the knees; rips all over his plaid shirt; also he was wearing his shoes on the opposite feet. That was not the only bizzare thing I saw, he was burning all of the work that has been on his walls since I can remember. I still hadn't seen Mr. Cohen yet. Until I saw him emerge from behind the stairs with a gigantic pile of paper in his arms, he dumped this one into the already large pile of burning paper as well.

I peeked around the door and watched him do this for about 5 minutes, trying to build up enough courage to ask him what he was doing. When I finally asked him, “Mr. Cohen, what are you doing?”, his answer stunned me, he had no English accent; a French accent instead. He said “well I am being transferred to an all French school over in Nova Scotia”. I was surprised at the fact that he did not seem mad at saying it, but right after he went back to igniting the fire. I went right to the Principle and told him what was going on, he immediately took actions and made all of the students go home.

The next day was very exciting for me as I was wondering who would be our replacement. I met Sam and Tom in the Student Lounge as they were also anxiously waiting to see who our new teacher was. When we got called to class our new teacher was awaiting us, and his name was Mr. Nehoc, and all seemed too familiar...
