“We’d Better take spears”.
The twins just came running down from the mountain screaming about some beast. They were acting savage, running and screaming down the hill. After I calmed them down, I gathered a group together to go up to the mountain and see about the beast the twins were going on and on about. We left piggy with the rest because of his asmar, and because he can only see out of one eye. What good would he even be. Plus I already need to deal with Jack, I can’t manage both him and Piggy at once. We went towards the castle, but before we even got far, everyone got distracted and we didn't find or even see the supposed beast the twins saw. Some boys wanted to walk back the the beach, some wanted to roll more rocks.
While we were walking to go hunt the supposed beast I was thinking to myself, I think the twins are lying about the beast. They were running through the forest and could of fell and got all cut up by the branches or rocks. Maybe they thought they saw something because they just woke up and were delusional. I just can’t see that there could’ve be a beast on the island but nobody has been hurt or killed by it yet. Normally if there is going to be a major predator wouldn't it have hurt or killed one of us by now? Maybe they just want attention? This whole situation is stupid! It shouldn't even be a concern to the group of boys.
After walking back and not finding the supposed beast I started to talk to Simon about how long we have been here for. Nothing really came out of the conversation except that we are so focused on not becoming savage but we have already became savage, we just don't realize. Jack is a perfect example, he is now a hunter; not a good one but he is a hunter and he trots around the island on all fours like an animal. That is savage behaviour. But being savage might not be what be what we think it is. It might be a good thing and a necessity to survive on this island.
We have been on this island for a tremendous amount of time, too much time, and everyone is in their own worlds. The litluns are scared of a beast that we don't even know exists, everyone stopped listening to the rules, everyone is doing what they want now. I want to go home to my family but I am slowly loosing hope and on top of that I'm loosing the group of boys and I am afraid that Jack is going to take over. But you can’t please everyone.
